Champion Our Public Schools & Ensure Healthy Learning Environments
There is nothing more important than creating healthy spaces to promote learning for all students. We must ensure that aging school buildings are repaired or replaced.
The importance of arts and culture in a child’s education cannot be underestimated. We must restore after-school programs in music, dance, drama, and debate.
Achieving reading proficiency by third grade is paramount. Reading to a child 20 minutes a day significantly improves crucial language and vocabulary skills. As mayor, I will visit classrooms and read to our students, and my administration will initiate a citywide read-to-a-child program.
We must collaborate with Stamford’s business community to establish internships for high school students interested in the trades and other real-life experiences.
